Top Tips Number Four - Throw Out Those Scales!
  Go on, you know you want too... How often have you stood on your scales and then been taken by a sudden urge to smash them into teeny tiny little pieces?

And they lie to you.

Stand on them and you are one weight, stand on them again two hours later and they say you are half a stone heavier! Now we know this cannot be true so there must be a conspiracy going on somewhere!!!

So lift 'em up, hoist 'em high and fling 'em out the bathroom window!!! Or, perhaps, more sensibly, take them to a friends house, lock them in a cupboard and throw away the key.
 
Scales are the bane of all dieters. We feel obliged to stand on them every time we pass them, sometimes standing on one foot, sometimes leaning to the side or maybe even holding our breath all in a vain attempt to make that little needle drop a fraction. Of course all that does is depress and upset us. So what do we do then? We say, why bother, I can't do this, where are the chokkie bikkies... And so the weight goes on.
 
The body's weight varies greatly during the course of a day, depending on what we have eaten or drank, what we have been doing, weather conditions general health, the list goes on. If you must weigh yourself, keep it to once a week only, same day and time, this will give a more accurate reading, and much less discouraging.
 
Throwing them out the window would be much more fun though...
